Peggy was teaching in Mottingham during the war and did watch duty on the roof of the school. She never knew what they would be able to do if there was a fire or a bomb landed as her watch partner had asthma so would be unable to run for help, pump the water or yell for help! Luckily nothing untoward ever happened.
